see-wall:  another Amsterdam

This proposal for the 2015 New York World’s Fair assumes a rise in the tidal flow of New York Harbor due to climatic changes brought about by Global Warming.  In order to make this environmental reality present to visitors to Governor’s Island, a one foot wide by ten foot wide solid glass seawall is constructed along the entire perimeter of Governor’s Island.   Thus, like the Netherlands, with its below sea level landmass protected by a series of levees and dikes, Governor’s Island is preserved behind glass for future generations to enjoy.  And like an inverted aquatic exhibit, the natural beauty of the waters of the Harbor is revealed.
