A celebration of all that is ephemeral about life in the city; the luminosity of glass, glass buildings, light, views, air, clouds (which are actually lighter than air), all gathered together on one floor for one night in one conveniently located downtown tower… #7 World Trade Center…. 

The design of a temporary installation for the Second Anniversary Party for the Architect's Newspaper on the 49th Floor of Larry Silverstein's #7 World Trade Center Tower, designed by SOM with curtainwall consultation by James Carpenter.   Various inflatable furnitures, glowing benches, sheer fabric cabanas and LED lighting effects transform the unfinished open space of the tower and accentuate the extensive view out over the nightlights of Manhattan.  Arguably the first social celebration overlooking Ground Zero, in and of itself a major milestone…
