the Perth Amboy High School Design Competition
Our approach to reconciling the dual concerns of a large urban school
with the “school within school” concept that is composed
of smaller, more accessible classrooms is to integrate the school
building form with the landscape, creating smaller elements, each
with immediate access to an interstitial green exterior space. This
strategy activates the school building and animates the landscape
captured between, creating green allees and open outdoor classroom
opportunities.
