Urban Church Tribeca
This proposal for a newly relocated church is situated within an existing landmark warehouse. The congregation space is designed as an inserted element, autonomous from the existing shell of the building. Walls and ceilings are articulated to adjust to acoustical and daylighting requirements. A rooftop penthouse features fellowship hall, which rises through to a glass volume that accesses a multi-tiered outdoor terrace. Strategic use of glass floors throughout extend the boundaries of the space, relieving darkness in the lower levels and creating a sectional connection in the upper levels.
